Director Venu Udugula, who recently became a producer with Raju Weds Rambai is enjoying the film’s big success. The film turned out to be a hit and Venu is now planning more projects.
During an interview he shared his thoughts about the film industry and made a strong comment about the movie Razakar.
Venu said that Razakar felt like a propaganda film and claimed it was pushed with a political agenda by the BJP. According to him the film does not show real history and was not made with honesty. He also admitted that he has not watched the movie but said he has issues with certain aspects of it.
His comments sparked debate in film circles. Some people agreed with him while others disagreed, saying the Razakars did torture villagers during that period.
Many also pointed out that Venu earlier faced criticism for Virata Parvam, which showed Naxalism in a positive way. Known for his communist ideology Venu often speaks against what he feels is propaganda in films. His latest remarks are expected to bring more criticism and it remains to be seen how he responds.
